Once you've read the Tao Te Ching, and get what it's saying, throw it away. Once you've read and come to understand grammar, burn every last grammar book you own. As for knowing and understanding grammar, the best writer I know is rather obsessed with grammar, syntax and the like - he is also a surreal writer with incredible depth and creativity.
